Designing connected health technology for variable connectivity

Connectivity is a system design condition: it affects the device, the data flow and the experience around it.

A connected health product does not exist only in a well-connected lab. Network availability, power, device access and care workflows all influence how a system should be designed.

That makes connectivity an engineering concern from the start. Local device behavior, safe data handling, clear synchronisation states and resilient interfaces all matter when a connection is intermittent.

Brykel’s platform work considers wearable hardware, embedded software and digital services together. The design goal is to make the system understandable and useful across different care environments as the technology evolves.
